What does translation mean?
Translation describes the process by which a text is converted from one language into another.
The issue is generally not how to translate the individual words themselves but ensuring that the linguistic features of the source language are recognizable in a target text that retains the style and sense of the original.
An example:
Stillen Sie ihr Heimweh (in German) – if you were to translate this sentence word for word without the help of a translator, you might end up with this: Breastfeed your homesickness (believe it or not, this ‘translation’ is out there!). The correct translation for Stillen Sie ihr Heimweh is Ease your homesickness.

Which format will VL Translations use for the finished text?
VL Translations will return the text to you in the same format as the original (source) text.
How do you work out the price for the translation?
VL Translations calculates the costs for translation, documentation and proofreading tasks on the number of words in the original text. We base our calculations on standard industry pricing models.
Why are some translations more expensive than others?
Each language has its own specific requirements. These particular features of each language mean that different language pairs can have various price structures.
